Living With Less

HAS CLEANING BECOME A FORMIDABLE CHORE AS PILES OF ALL KINDS APPEAR EVERYWHERE? Your possessions influence how you feel. Do you want this connection to support and nurture you and your family. Would you like to gain control over your life and make space in your home for your life to flourish?

Assessing your clutter is important because absolute honesty and conscious awareness of all your possessions is the only way to gain control of the fire-breathing dragon of clutter that has taken up residence in your home.

ASSESSING YOUR CLUTTER:

1. Walk around your house or workplace with a pad and pencil looking at everything you own.

2. Ask yourself the following questions? Do I love this, does it bring me joy, does it nurture me, do I use it, why am I keeping it?

3. Now put numbers alongside the various items and piles of stuff that you see from 1-10. One could be the most urgent or irritating .

4. Decide on which project you want to begin with and make a committment to do it by writing on your list, calendar and any other way you keep track of activities.

5. You will allot only 15-30 minutes for this activity or first project and no more.

6. Work for your allotted time. Don't attempt to finish the project. You will accomplish your goal in small segments of 15-30 minute time segments.
