Author: Tim Gorman

There are many types of arthritis pain relief, of course the most common one is prescribed and over the counter drugs. These can work very well in helping to keep the pain under control and giving you a break from any associated arthritic conditions. Your doctor is the best person to advise you on what over the counter drugs will work best for you and are most likely to be a lasting solution to the pain caused by your arthritis flare ups. Unfortunately right now there is no known cure for arthritis, but a good treatment can help you to manage the pain better.

If you don't like the idea of taking any drugs, but would like to stay with standard medicine, then you can try Tens to see if it works on your arthritis pain and symptoms. The correct name for this is transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation, so you can probably understand why the medical community abbreviated it. Tens is actually a small electrical pain reliever that sends light electric shocks through the nerves so that the pain messages are interrupted. Although not quite as effective as some drugs, this can still be a very good way to control your arthritis pain without having to take any arthritis pain relief drugs.

One of the best and some people say most effective form of arthritis pain relief is to eat well and adopt a healthy way of living. A lot of patients believe that a good diet can help with the arthritis pain and prevent the disease progressing rapidly and rather quickly. A lot of doctors also provide support by agreeing that their patient's diet can have a beneficial effect on their arthritis pain symptoms. Exercise can also be a good deterrent to pain as a result of arthritis, although you will need to consult with your doctor or arthritis specialist in order to find out what the best exercise is for you and your arthritis condition. Often you will need to just take a gentle walk every day or perform some light stretching on a daily basis. Your doctor should be able to help you develop an exercise plan to follow that will help to relieve you of any arthritis pain while preventing you from causing any further harm to yourself or aggravating your current condition.

Arthritis pain relief can take many different forms and truthfully the best way to find out which is the most suitable form for you is to ask your doctor. Your medical specialist can give you the best information on the treatments available so that you can decide which you would like to try in order to relieve your arthritis pain. Remember, before you try any new treatments for your arthritis symptoms it is always a good idea to ask your doctor whether it is a good treatment and likely to help your current condition.
